![]() Pupils are taught the value and reasons behind rules and laws, that they govern and protect us, the responsibilities that this involves and the consequences when laws are broken.Īt Bewick Bridge, pupils are actively encouraged to make choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment. These rules govern everything within our school. Pupils follow the rules of the school which are 'Be Safe' and 'Be Respectful'. The importance of laws, whether they be those that govern the class, the school, or the country, are consistently reinforced at Bewick Bridge. Children have an annual questionnaire where they are able to put forward their views about the school. Every child on the school council is voted in by their class. The council sets its own agenda and priorities, and is genuinely able to effect change within the school. At Bewick Bridge, these values are reinforced regularly and in the following ways:Įach year, we have a school council which meets regularly with the School Council Lead to discuss issues raised in class council meetings. ![]() The Government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy, this advice and guidance was updated in June 2015 and the values reiterated.
